Panhellenic Council (PHC)
The Panhellenic Council (PHC) is the governing and representative body including six national (NPC) as well as international and two local affiliated sororities. PHC seeks to support, advocate, and enhance the experience of its member organizations and provide a venue for organizations to communicate and collaborate. Through community service and promoting women's wellness, the chapters contribute to the overall well-being of the SSU community. Through these ideals, the women seek to maintain an environment that upholds their values and amplify the true meaning of sorority.
How to Join
During the Fall semesters, the six NPC chapters participate in a Formal Fall Recruitment process, which is typically held in September. This consists of 3 days Friday evening, Saturday (entire day), and Sunday (entire day). Individuals wishing to participate in Formal Fall Recruitment must register for recruitment the Tuesday before the recruitment weekend begins.
Our local organizations host individual recruitment events in the fall and spring, times, and locations of events may vary.
During the Spring semesters, not all chapters recruit. For our NPC chapters, they do what is called Continuous Open Bidding (COB). COB is only done by chapters that are under the average chapter size set for Sonoma State. For our Local chapters, they will host recruitment events as they did in the fall.
For more information on any chapter's recruitment process, be sure to follow PHC and the individual organization's social media.
